I have a question about using DVD footage! Am I posting in the right place?

Hello! I'm currently a n00b here at the Random Destination Studios forum. Well, as the subject mentions, I have a question regarding DVD footage. You see, I watched the cute little Fruits Basket video by peropero503 and noticed how smoothly the footage plays. I am currently experimenting with the AMVapp things and my new Magix computer software but no matter how hard I try, the Fruits Basket DVD footage I used is jerky when I export it! The guides provided on the animemusicvideo.org website are a bit confusing for me so I thought I should ask around here. If anyone can help me, that would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

PS: I hope I'm posting in the correct field and I apologize if I'm not!

What exactly do you mean by jerky? and what format/video codec are you using the export video to?  |:?

Kagome1nonly:
Well, to explain, by jerky I mean that, for example in my video, I have a video of Kyo laying down staring at the ground. In the Magix program, it plays normally like a DVD footage but when it's exported, it slightly bounces up and down like it's going through a miny earthquake. @.@ And, I'm using Magix to export. I'm not exactly sure what to use since I'm still trying to get used to DVD footage. :P
Thank you in advance! :)

Um.. let me clarify... whenh you go to export the video using magix..  what container/codec do you use.. do you export as avi? if so, what video codec?  or.. do you export as mpeg? quicktime?  I do know there's an option to export as 'magix video' but that's like a proprietery codec that is only compatible with magix..

i suggest getting familiar with this:

it's a bit old now, but its still very usuable in terms of learning about containers/codecs and whatnot.

I export it as an AVI file each time. Should Magix be able to stop the jerky movements or do I kind of have to go through the whole export through HuffYUV lossless thingy? Sorry, I'm not very good with techy stuff... ._. would you happen to know how peropero created her's?
